How to set a Cryptnox FIDO2 card Security Key on X account

Step by step tutorial to Security Key on X account

Security Key Support Across Operating Systems and Web Browsers: 

The availability of security key support may vary based on the operating system and web browser in use. 

MacOS: Security Key support is available in browsers such as Safari and Firefox.
Windows: Most modern web browsers provide security key support.
Mobile devices: It is recommended to use the mobile web version of the service, as many applications redirect users to a mobile browser to complete the
security key

Before setting up a Security Key on your X Account, ensure that you have a Cryptnox FIDO2 Card available for the setup. For official Apple tutorial, click here.

Step 1

Open setting, tap on your name and tap on “Sign-in & Security”.

Step 2

Enter your password and proceed.

Step 3

Read the instruction carefully and select “Get started”.

Step 4

Select “Add key”.

Step 5

The system will prompt the message to setup the security key. While the prompt is opening, tap the card at the back of the phone.

Once the card is registered properly, the system will ask you to put the PIN. Once you put in the PIN, select “Continue”.

Important: Ensure you remember your PIN. It is advisable to save it securely or write it down in a safe place. You will need this PIN the next time you log in to a site where you have set up security key authentication.

Step 6

The system will prompt the message tap the card again to activate it. Once it is done, it will automatically proceed to next step.

Step 7

Give a name for your security key. This can be anything you like and select “Next”.

Step 8

Make sure you backup the code for the recovery purpose in case you forgot or lost the security key and then select “Done”.
