Hardware Wallet for Ankr (ANKR)

Does the Cryptnox wallet support ANKR?

Yes. Cryptnox supports ANKR as a user-added EVM token, not as a pre-programmed asset on the cards. Add ERC-20 ANKR on Ethereum, or add the relevant ANKR token on supported EVM networks such as BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, or Fantom. ANKR uses a 0x-prefixed 20-byte EVM address. The signing keys for that address are created inside the card’s secure element and are not exported.

How ANKR is held on Cryptnox

ANKR is handled through the EVM token route on Cryptnox. On Ethereum, the asset is ERC-20 ANKR. On other supported EVM networks, including BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, and Fantom, ANKR is added as the equivalent token for that chain. The cards do not arrive with ANKR already shown, so the buyer adds the network or token once during setup.

This matters because ANKR can exist on more than one EVM chain while still using the same style of address. A 0x-prefixed 20-byte address may look familiar across Ethereum-style networks, but the network selected for receiving or sending must match where the ANKR actually sits.

ANKR support route

  • Ethereum: add ANKR as an ERC-20 token.
  • BNB Smart Chain: add the EVM network if needed, then add the ANKR token for that network.
  • Polygon, Avalanche, and Fantom: use the same EVM network-and-token approach.
  • Address format: use a 0x-prefixed 20-byte EVM address.
  • Card status on delivery: the Dual-Card Set ships uninitialised, and ANKR is not pre-programmed.

For current Cryptnox network and asset coverage, use the coin and blockchain support page before moving ANKR. The product used for this setup is the Cryptnox Crypto Hardware Wallet – Dual-Card Set.

Why ANKR needs the correct EVM network

ANKR’s ticker does not by itself identify the network being used. ERC-20 ANKR on Ethereum and ANKR on another EVM chain can share the same 0x address style, but the transfer route is different. Before receiving ANKR, check whether the sending platform is using Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Fantom, or another supported EVM network.

The practical risk for ANKR holders is choosing an address that looks valid while selecting the wrong network. The 0x format confirms the address family, not the chain route. Cryptnox can hold ANKR through supported EVM networks after the user adds the relevant network or token, so the setup step should mirror the chain where the tokens are already held.

CoinMarketCap’s ANKR overview is a useful external reference when checking the asset identity, while the Ankr documentation covers Ankr’s own ecosystem and services. For custody on Cryptnox, the important buyer action is still local: add ANKR on the matching EVM network before expecting the balance to appear.

Before receiving ANKR

  • Confirm the chain used by the sender.
  • Add that EVM network in the Cryptnox app if it is not already present.
  • Add ANKR as the token for that network.
  • Check that the destination starts with 0x and that the network name also matches.
  • Use a small test transfer before sending a larger ANKR balance.

Setting up the Dual-Card Set for ANKR

The Dual-Card Set starts uninitialised. During setup, the seed is created inside both secure elements, which makes the second card the backup for the same wallet. For an ANKR holder, that means the recovery model is established before ERC-20 ANKR or another EVM-chain ANKR token is added in the app.

The default setup does not begin with a written recovery phrase. Importing a 12 or 24 word BIP39 recovery phrase is available as an advanced option, but a fresh ANKR wallet can be created directly by initialising the two cards together. After that, add the EVM network and token route that matches the ANKR you intend to receive.

ANKR setup sequence

  • Initialise the two cards together in the Cryptnox app.
  • Keep the second card stored separately from the card used for routine ANKR signing.
  • Select Ethereum if your ANKR is ERC-20.
  • Add BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Fantom, or another supported EVM network when your ANKR is on that chain.
  • Add the ANKR token entry and confirm the 0x receiving address before transfer.

The Cryptnox hardware wallet tutorials are the right starting point for setup and card use before you add ANKR. Once the wallet is ready, the ANKR-specific task is choosing the correct EVM network rather than looking for a preloaded ANKR account.

Security model for ANKR signing

ANKR transfers and EVM contract approvals depend on the private key behind the 0x address. In the Cryptnox card workflow, that key is generated inside the secure element and stays there. The card uses an EAL6+-certified chip; that rating belongs to the chip platform, not to a separate claim about the finished wallet.

For ANKR, the visible parts of the process are the network, the token entry, the destination, and the transaction request. The sensitive part is the signature. Cryptnox keeps the key material on the smart card while the app is used to prepare and review the action. That distinction is important when ANKR is managed beside other EVM tokens in Web3 tools.

The card is a contact and NFC smart card. You can tap it to a phone or insert it into a reader, so ANKR holders are not limited to a single interaction style. The card itself has no fingerprint or face sensor. When the Cryptnox app uses the phone’s unlock capability, the phone is handling the user check in the app flow while the ANKR signing key remains in the secure element.

What to review before signing ANKR activity

  • The selected EVM network, especially when the same ANKR ticker appears on several chains.
  • The 0x destination address.
  • Whether the action is a token transfer or another EVM transaction involving ANKR.
  • The card being used for approval, with the backup card kept separate.

Using ANKR with WalletConnect and MetaMask

The Cryptnox app is available free on iOS and Android, and it is the place where ANKR’s EVM route is added after the cards are initialised. For Web3 use, Cryptnox connects through WalletConnect and works with MetaMask. That gives ANKR holders a way to use familiar EVM interfaces while keeping signing tied to the card workflow.

MetaMask can be part of an ANKR workflow because ANKR follows the EVM address model on Ethereum and other EVM networks. The network still has to be chosen correctly. ERC-20 ANKR belongs on Ethereum, while ANKR on BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, or Fantom must be handled through that chain’s EVM route.

When comparing ANKR with other EVM holdings, the hardware wallet for Polygon page is relevant because Polygon also uses Ethereum-style addressing. If you also hold assets outside the EVM model, the hardware wallet for TRON page helps separate ANKR’s 0x address route from a different chain structure.

Web3 checks for ANKR

  • Match the connected network to the ANKR token you added.
  • Do not treat a matching ticker as proof that the network is correct.
  • Review the transaction in the app before approving with the card.
  • Use WalletConnect or MetaMask as the connection layer, not as the place where the card’s private key is stored.

Managing ANKR beside other assets

ANKR often sits in a wallet next to other Ethereum-style assets, so the receiving workflow should be consistent: identify the chain, add the network if needed, add the token, then check the 0x address before moving funds. The same address format can appear across Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, and Fantom, which makes labelling and network discipline useful for day-to-day ANKR management.

The broader Cryptnox crypto hardware wallet collection helps buyers compare asset pages when ANKR is only one part of a portfolio. For a non-EVM comparison, the hardware wallet for Bitcoin page covers a different custody route. The hardware wallet for Ronin page is also useful when comparing ANKR’s EVM-token setup with another network-focused wallet workflow.

Practical ANKR organisation

  • Name the chain where each ANKR balance is held.
  • Keep the backup card separate from the card used for routine approvals.
  • Recheck the network before every ANKR transfer.
  • Use the Cryptnox app to add the token route rather than expecting ANKR to appear on an uninitialised card.

Choose the Cryptnox Crypto Hardware Wallet – Dual-Card Set when you want ANKR custody through a Swiss-engineered contact and NFC smart card with a second card serving as the backup from setup.

Frequently asked questions

Is ANKR pre-programmed on the Cryptnox cards?

No. ANKR is added by the user after the Dual-Card Set is initialised. Use ERC-20 ANKR on Ethereum, or add the relevant ANKR token on a supported EVM network such as BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, or Fantom.

Which address format does ANKR use on Cryptnox?

ANKR uses a 0x-prefixed 20-byte EVM address. That format is used across Ethereum-style networks, so the address can look familiar even when the network differs. Always match the network to the ANKR you are receiving or sending.

Can I hold ANKR on BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, or Fantom?

Yes. ANKR can be held on supported EVM networks when you add the network and token yourself. The route is ERC-20 ANKR on Ethereum, or the equivalent ANKR token on another supported EVM chain.

What protects the private key for ANKR transactions?

The private key for the 0x account is generated inside the card’s secure element and remains there. The card uses an EAL6+-certified chip. ANKR transfers and other EVM actions are signed through the card and app workflow.

How does the backup work for an ANKR wallet?

The Dual-Card Set ships uninitialised. During setup, the seed is generated inside both secure elements, so the second card is the backup. A fresh ANKR wallet does not require writing down a recovery phrase by default.

Can I import an existing ANKR wallet?

Importing a 12 or 24 word BIP39 recovery phrase is an advanced option. The default path is different: initialise the two cards together so the seed is created inside both secure elements, then add ANKR on the correct EVM network.

Does the Cryptnox card have its own fingerprint or face sensor?

No. The card itself has no fingerprint or face sensor. User unlock in the Cryptnox app can use the phone’s unlock capability, while the ANKR signing key remains generated and retained inside the card’s secure element.

Can I use ANKR with WalletConnect or MetaMask?

Yes. The free Cryptnox app on iOS and Android connects to Web3 through WalletConnect and works with MetaMask. For ANKR, still make sure the connected EVM network matches the chain where your token is held.

Is the Cryptnox wallet an HD wallet with a new receive address for each transaction?

No, and on this network that is not a limitation. The Cryptnox wallet uses one address per chain. HD address rotation comes from Bitcoin’s UTXO model and the BIP32/BIP44/BIP49/BIP84 derivation scheme; on account-model networks each account is a single fixed address by design, so the question does not apply in the same way. Cryptnox’s single-address-per-chain behaviour matches how these networks work.

At the cryptography layer the card derives keys along BIP32 and SLIP-10 paths, one path per supported chain, though that is not exposed in the app as multi-address management.

Does Cryptnox ship worldwide, and will I pay import duties?

Yes. Cryptnox ships worldwide from the official CRYPTNOX store. Orders to Switzerland, the European Union and the United States are dispatched from stock already held in each of those regions, so the parcel does not cross a customs border into your country and there are no import duties to pay. Orders to other destinations are shipped internationally, and any import duties or local taxes are set by the destination country and are the recipient’s responsibility. Current shipping rates are shown at checkout.
