Cryptnox black smart card with gold contact chip, NFC symbol and the Pax Dollar (USDP) logo

USDP Wallet for Pax Dollar

Does the Cryptnox wallet support USDP?

Yes. The Cryptnox Crypto Hardware Wallet – Dual-Card Set can hold USDP as the Ethereum ERC-20 token after you add it once in the Cryptnox app through Add a Network or Add a Token. USDP on Solana as an SPL token is not holdable on the card. Your USDP uses a 0x-prefixed 20-byte EVM address, with private keys generated inside secure elements and kept there.

USDP support route on Cryptnox

USDP, also known as Pax Dollar, is holdable on the Cryptnox Crypto Hardware Wallet – Dual-Card Set only as the ERC-20 token on Ethereum. Paxos publishes USDP mainnet information in its official USDP documentation, and the Cryptnox route for this asset follows the Ethereum token model. The Solana SPL representation is a separate technical form, but it is not holdable on this card.

That distinction matters before you receive funds. A USDP label alone is not enough; the network and token standard must match the wallet setup. For this product, use Ethereum and ERC-20. The address you use is a 0x-prefixed 20-byte EVM address.

What to choose for USDP

  • Asset: USDP, also known as Pax Dollar.
  • Holdable form: ERC-20 token on Ethereum.
  • Address format: 0x-prefixed 20-byte EVM address.
  • Not holdable: USDP as a Solana SPL token.
  • Setup status: not pre-programmed; add it once in the Cryptnox app.

If you are checking other assets before buying, the Cryptnox coin and blockchain support page is the practical place to compare coverage. For USDP itself, keep the route narrow: Ethereum ERC-20, added once through the app, received at an EVM address beginning with 0x.

Getting Started USDP (Pax Dollar)

Add USDP as an Ethereum token

The Dual-Card Set does not ship with USDP already configured. After the wallet is initialised, add USDP once in the Cryptnox app by using Add a Network or Add a Token. For this asset, that setup must point to the Ethereum ERC-20 version of USDP, not to the Solana SPL representation.

For a buyer, the important detail is control. The card is not a preloaded USDP card, and it does not create a special USDP-only account. It protects the private key for an Ethereum account. The USDP token balance is associated with that Ethereum account address after the token has been added correctly.

USDP setup checklist

  • Initialise the Cryptnox Dual-Card Set before adding the token.
  • Open the Cryptnox app and use Add a Network or Add a Token.
  • Select the Ethereum ERC-20 route for USDP.
  • Use the 0x-prefixed EVM address shown for the Ethereum account.
  • Do not treat a Solana SPL USDP route as interchangeable with this setup.

If you want the product workflow before starting, the Cryptnox hardware wallet tutorials cover setup and use of the hardware wallet products. For USDP, apply those product steps to the Ethereum ERC-20 token route.

Paxos also describes Pax Dollar under the USDP name in its own Pax Dollar support material. On the Cryptnox wallet, the name must still be paired with the correct network and standard: Ethereum ERC-20.

Receive USDP to the right address

USDP on this wallet uses an Ethereum account, so the receiving address begins with 0x and follows the 20-byte EVM address format. That address format is part of the route that makes USDP holdable here as an ERC-20 token. A Solana SPL address is not the receiving path for the Cryptnox USDP setup.

When a sending service offers more than one network for USDP, choose the Ethereum ERC-20 option for this card. The same asset name can appear beside different technical routes, but only the Ethereum ERC-20 route fits the Cryptnox holdable form for USDP.

Before you share an address

  • Confirm that USDP has been added in the Cryptnox app as an Ethereum ERC-20 token.
  • Use the Ethereum address that starts with 0x.
  • Check that the sender is using Ethereum ERC-20 for USDP.
  • Do not provide a Solana SPL destination for this wallet setup.

This is also why USDP should not be judged only by the ticker displayed in another app. The card protects the private key for the Ethereum account, and that account controls the ERC-20 token balance at the 0x address. The Solana SPL representation is outside the holdable route for this product.

If your portfolio also includes EVM assets outside Ethereum, keep their setup rules separate. For example, a Polygon wallet route uses its own product context, which is covered on the Cryptnox hardware wallet for Polygon page. For USDP on this page, the route remains Ethereum ERC-20.

Private-key model for an Ethereum USDP account

For USDP, the token balance is tied to an Ethereum account, and the private key for that account is generated inside the secure element. The private key never leaves it. The card does not store USDP as a balance inside the plastic; it protects the key that controls the 0x-prefixed Ethereum address holding the ERC-20 token balance.

Each card uses an EAL6+-certified chip. That property belongs to the chip platform. For a USDP holder, the practical point is that the key material for the Ethereum account is created and kept inside the secure element rather than being exposed during the standard setup flow.

What the card protects

The card protects the private key for the Ethereum account used to control USDP. The Cryptnox app is used to add the ERC-20 token and interact with the wallet, while the key remains inside the secure element. When the app asks to unlock use of the wallet, the check can use the phone’s own fingerprint or face unlock; the card itself has no fingerprint or face sensor.

This model is useful for a buyer who wants to hold Pax Dollar through a physical smart-card wallet while keeping the Ethereum private key inside secure hardware. The USDP-specific decision is still the network choice: add Pax Dollar as the Ethereum ERC-20 token and use the EVM address that begins with 0x.

Backup cards for a USDP wallet setup

The Cryptnox Crypto Hardware Wallet – Dual-Card Set arrives uninitialised. During setup, the seed is generated inside both secure elements. The second card is therefore the backup for the same wallet setup, including the Ethereum account used for ERC-20 USDP.

For USDP, this means you do not create one Ethereum address for the first card and a different address for the second card as a normal backup method. Both cards are part of the same wallet setup, and the USDP balance is controlled through the same Ethereum account address.

How the second card helps a USDP holder

  • The two-card setup is initialised before you add USDP.
  • The backup seed is generated inside the second secure element during setup.
  • The same Ethereum account is used for the ERC-20 USDP balance.
  • The standard setup does not require writing down a recovery phrase.

Importing an existing BIP39 recovery phrase is available as an advanced option. That is different from the standard Dual-Card Set setup, where both secure elements generate the seed internally. For a new USDP wallet, the direct path is to initialise the two cards together, then add Pax Dollar as the Ethereum ERC-20 token in the app.

The buyer decision is straightforward: if the goal is to hold USDP on an Ethereum account with a second physical card as the backup, use the Dual-Card Set setup first and configure the token after the wallet is ready.

Card form factor and app use for USDP

The Cryptnox card is a contact and NFC smart card. For mobile USDP setup, tap the card to a phone while using the Cryptnox app. With the contact interface, insert the card into a reader. This dual-interface format is the physical access method for the Ethereum account that holds ERC-20 USDP.

For USDP setup, use the free Cryptnox app on iOS or Android to initialise the Dual-Card Set and add Pax Dollar as the Ethereum ERC-20 token. The app is also the place where you use Add a Network or Add a Token, so the asset is tied to the correct Ethereum route before you receive it.

Using USDP beyond the app

After USDP is configured on Ethereum, the Cryptnox app can connect to Web3 through WalletConnect and works with MetaMask. The account used in those connection flows is still the Ethereum account protected by the card, and the USDP token balance remains associated with the 0x-prefixed EVM address.

If you are comparing the card format with other Cryptnox wallet options, the Cryptnox hardware wallet hub gives the broader product context. For this asset, the detail that matters is narrower: USDP must be added as an Ethereum ERC-20 token, not as its Solana SPL representation.

Buying the Dual-Card Set for USDP

The product for this setup is the Cryptnox Crypto Hardware Wallet – Dual-Card Set. It is the two-card product used when you want one card for daily access to the USDP Ethereum account and the second card as the backup created during setup. The cards are Swiss-engineered, and private keys are generated inside secure elements.

Before buying for USDP, decide whether your intended deposits are Ethereum ERC-20. If the sending platform uses a Solana SPL route for USDP, that route is not holdable on this card. If it offers Ethereum ERC-20, the receiving address should be the 0x-prefixed EVM address from your Cryptnox Ethereum account.

Good fit for a USDP buyer

  • You want to hold Pax Dollar as the ERC-20 token on Ethereum.
  • You want USDP tied to a 0x-prefixed EVM address.
  • You want a second card to act as the backup after initialisation.
  • You want to add the token yourself in the Cryptnox app rather than buy a pre-configured USDP card.
  • You do not need the Solana SPL representation of USDP on this wallet.

If your holdings also involve TRON assets, do not use the USDP Ethereum setup as a guide for that network; the Cryptnox hardware wallet for TRON page is the relevant route. If you also hold Bitcoin, its address model is separate from USDP’s 0x-prefixed Ethereum address, so the Cryptnox hardware wallet for Bitcoin page should be treated separately.

Frequently asked questions

Is USDP preloaded on the Cryptnox card?

No. USDP is not pre-programmed on the card. After initialising the Dual-Card Set, add USDP once in the Cryptnox app through Add a Network or Add a Token. The holdable route is the Ethereum ERC-20 token, received at a 0x-prefixed 20-byte EVM address.

Can I hold USDP on Solana with the Dual-Card Set?

No. The Solana SPL representation of USDP is not holdable on the Cryptnox Crypto Hardware Wallet – Dual-Card Set. For this product, USDP support means Pax Dollar as the ERC-20 token on Ethereum. Use the Ethereum route and the 0x-prefixed EVM address shown for your wallet.

What address format should I use for USDP?

Use an Ethereum EVM address that begins with 0x and follows the 20-byte EVM address format. That is the address format for the holdable USDP route on this card. Do not use a Solana SPL address when setting up or receiving USDP with the Cryptnox Dual-Card Set.

Where are the private keys for my USDP address generated?

The private keys for the Ethereum account are generated inside the secure element and never leave it. USDP is an Ethereum ERC-20 token balance associated with your 0x-prefixed address, while the card protects the private key that controls that Ethereum account.

Does Cryptnox ship worldwide, and will I pay import duties?

Yes. Cryptnox ships worldwide from the official CRYPTNOX store. Orders to Switzerland, the European Union and the United States are dispatched from stock already held in each of those regions, so the parcel does not cross a customs border into your country and there are no import duties to pay. Orders to other destinations are shipped internationally, and any import duties or local taxes are set by the destination country and are the recipient’s responsibility. Current shipping rates are shown at checkout.

How does the second card back up a USDP wallet?

The Dual-Card Set arrives uninitialised. During setup, the seed is generated inside both secure elements, so the second card is the backup for the same wallet setup. For USDP, that means both cards protect the Ethereum account used to control the ERC-20 token balance.

Does the card itself scan my fingerprint or face?

No. The card itself has no fingerprint or face sensor. When unlocking wallet use through the Cryptnox app, the app can rely on the phone’s own fingerprint or face check. The card’s role is to protect the Ethereum private key inside the secure element.

Can I use WalletConnect or MetaMask with USDP?

Yes. After adding USDP as the Ethereum ERC-20 token, the free Cryptnox app can connect to Web3 through WalletConnect and works with MetaMask. The USDP balance remains tied to the Ethereum account protected by the card and shown as a 0x-prefixed EVM address.

Is the Cryptnox wallet an HD wallet with a new receive address for each transaction?

No, and on this network that is not a limitation. The Cryptnox wallet uses one address per chain. HD address rotation comes from Bitcoin’s UTXO model and the BIP32/BIP44/BIP49/BIP84 derivation scheme; on account-model networks each account is a single fixed address by design, so the question does not apply in the same way. Cryptnox’s single-address-per-chain behaviour matches how these networks work.

At the cryptography layer the card derives keys along BIP32 and SLIP-10 paths, one path per supported chain, though that is not exposed in the app as multi-address management.
