Wormhole W has two relevant token routes for a buyer to separate before making a transfer: SPL W on Solana and ERC-20 W on EVM networks. The Cryptnox Crypto Hardware Wallet – Dual-Card Set holds W through the ERC-20 route on EVM networks such as Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum and Optimism. It is not the route for holding the Solana SPL W token directly.

W is not pre-programmed on the card. After the card setup is complete, you add the EVM network or add the W token once in the free Cryptnox app on iOS or Android. The W balance then belongs to the 0x-prefixed 20-byte EVM address controlled by the private key in the card’s secure element.

Add W as an ERC-20 token before use

The W token entry is added by the user; it does not arrive already enabled on the card. For W on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum or Optimism, the practical choice is whether the EVM network is already visible in the Cryptnox app. If it is not visible, use Add a Network. If the network is visible but W is not displayed, use Add a Token.

Security model for ERC-20 W

For ERC-20 W, the token balance is controlled by the private key behind the 0x-prefixed EVM address. In the Cryptnox Dual-Card Set, private keys are generated inside the secure element and never leave it. Adding W to the app makes the ERC-20 token visible for the chosen EVM route; it does not export the key from the card.

The card uses an EAL6+-certified chip. For a W holder, that chip protects the key used to sign actions for the EVM address where ERC-20 W is held. The certification is a property of the chip platform, while the product is a contact and NFC smart card used with the Cryptnox app.

That form factor matters for W because the card can be tapped to a phone when adding or using W in the app, or inserted into a reader when your setup calls for contact use. The card is dual-interface, so the W workflow is not limited to a single contact method.
